hellos everyone! i had plenty of fun at rowing clinic yesterday at west coast. feather, square, paddle, twist, slide back. push forward, pull backwards, no circular motion. separated into 4 groups. grp 1 and 2, did quarts first. which means four person in the boat, actually is 3 la, cause 1 of them have to be a instructor. grp 3 and 4 did singles and doubles. after lunch, we swopped.
imah is a very good teacher, patient and clear in explaination. i had her for doubles. my arms movement was all wrong at first, my shoulders were doing the circular motions when it was supposed to be forward and backwards movement only. it reminded me of footdrills when i was back in sec sch. my shoulders would shrug when it was supposed to be motionless. whatever it is, fond memories.
tried the singles fter that, while lao da and genie tried out the doubles. they capsized even before they start the actual rowing. HAHAHA. damm funny, i could see lao da's expression from where i was and i was laughing to myself right in the middle of the reservoir. i was afraid to try out the single initially but decided to attempt it cause the instructor ensured me that it will not capsize. and he was true to his word.
so i row for a while and i had a collision. and the people on the quarts say 'yao da ren' meaning they wanted to hit me. stupid idiots. so i retorted with the same thing. heh, but all in the name of good fun. we have had to move away from each other, but i didnt really know how to steer my boat, so i got them to move first. cause at first, they told me ladies first which means they want me to move my boat first, but i got webbed fingers at that moment cause i was too gan cheing to move away from them. i gave up after a while cause it was too troublesome.
decided to get back, but trust me, its easier said than done. i had a hard trying to 'park' my boat. i was near to the 'shore' but i couldnt navigate the boat to where i wanted. got further away from the shore. and i ended up being the last boat back. damm.
up next was the race, my grp was represented by the 2 guys and lao da and genie. i didnt want to take part cause the race started almost immediately after i got back from my journey. boy oh boy, they won both the heats and the final race. and the prize was tshirts foc from the association.
back to school for bathing next, genie blasted the music from her phone in the bathroom. very funny, made alot of noises cause there were only 3 of us using the whole toilet. heee.
cabbed down to wheelock place next cause they wanted to collect they pay from cedele and we had our dinner there too. i left my hp in the cab at wheelock. but some kind soul known as mr thomas called my dad and my dad went to pick up my hp for me. wich means, in a span of 5 hrs or lesser, i lost and found my hp. was feeling so miserable over dinner over the missing hp.
took buses home with lao da and more interesting things happened. too lazy to elaborate but the day in conclusion was FUN albeit sunburns that hurts terribly. lao da look very comical with the sunburn on her legs. it makes me want to laugh.
a thoroughly enjoyable day with the both of them plus the people who signed up plus the instructors plus mr mark tan! hahaha. we had funny people on the trip too. there was this guy telling his friends abt his mischeivous primary sch days. he said in those days when we were still using 2B pencils, he was sharpening his pencil after completing his work then he look at the pencil, feeling bored. coincidentally, his partner left his seat to ask the teacher some questions. he then held the pencil with the lead facing up on his partner's chair, his partner didnt see it hen he came back and SAT on it! poke his ass, that guy said. wth lah! but, very funny.
